Jeff Gundy
My eight books of poems include Without a Plea (Bottom Dog, 2019), Abandoned Homeland(Bottom Dog, 2015), a finalist for the Ohioana Poetry Award, and Somewhere Near Defiance (Anhinga, 2014), for which I was named Ohio Poet of the Year. My most recent prose book is Songs from an Empty Cage: Poetry, Mystery, Anabaptism, and Peace (Cascadia, 2013). Recent essays, poems, and reviews appear in The Georgia Review, The Sun, Kenyon Review, Forklift, Ohio, Terrain, Image, Cincinnati Review, Artful Dodge, and many other journals. After many years teaching at Bluffton University in Ohio I was named Distinguished Poet in Residence, and will continue to teach some courses there. I spent my last sabbatical at LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and in 2008 was a Fulbright Lecturer and Poet in Residence at the University of Salzburg in Austria.
